Interview: Who is Bambe?

Bambe: The New Eco-Friendly Diaper Brand by Bamboolik.

Since 2012, the company Bamboolik specialises in sustainable and ecological products for children. We are now proudly introducing our new brand of disposable diapers – Bambe. With Bambe, we combine Bamboolik’s values with the needs of modern parents who seek not only comfort but also practical and functional solutions. We’re happy to see that sustainability and environmental responsibility have become important criteria when choosing products. Thanks to Bambe, we can help families worldwide reduce their ecological footprint – including those who care about both the planet and their own convenience.

Who are you, and what do you do?

I’m Zuzana Hloušková, and I represent Bamboolik, a company I founded in 2012. Our goal and passion are to create high-quality products for children that are also environmentally friendly. From the very beginning, we chose to take the sustainable path – and over time, we became pioneers in eco-friendly baby care. We have always focused on cloth diapers and reusable eco-friendly products, and now, with Bambe, we are expanding our range to include disposable eco diapers. Our aim is not only to contribute to protecting the planet but also to make parents’ lives easier.

How did you come up with the idea of making disposable diapers?

At Bamboolik, we always strive for innovation and to understand what parents really need – so expanding into disposable diapers was a natural step. We noticed that sustainability has become an important value for many parents, even those who wouldn’t choose cloth diapers for convenience reasons. We wanted to offer a product for them, too. With Bambe, even parents who use disposable diapers don’t have to feel guilty anymore.

What was your initial idea of what Bambe should look like?

Our main vision was clear: practical, easy to use, eco-friendly, and sustainable. We wanted to create diapers that are not only of high-quality but also have the lowest possible impact on the environment. That’s why Bambe diapers are made from certified plant-based materials that are gentle on babies’ skin while preserving natural resources. This includes biodegradable components that reduce waste and raw materials sourced from renewable sources. It took time to perfect, but we truly believe we’ve fulfilled our vision in every way.

Who are Bambe diapers made for?

Bambe is designed for modern parents who want to balance convenience with environmental responsibility. We wanted to create a product that not only serves its purpose but also reflects a commitment to a sustainable future. No parent wants to think about landfills full of non-degradable diapers while changing their baby. At first, we simply aimed to expand our product line to meet the needs of different parents. But during development, we discovered that eco-friendly disposable diapers are also relevant for cloth-diapering families. Our research even led us to a funny realization:

Anyone who claims they’ve never used a disposable diaper is probably still using them. :-D

Bambe is for everyone who cares about their children’s future—not just from an environmental perspective, but also in terms of happy and stress-free parenting.

How long did it take from the initial idea to the product launch?

It took about a year from the initial concept to getting Bambe on the market. There were quite a few challenges, especially in finding the right suppliers and setting up an efficient logistics system. We wanted partners who shared our values and could provide high-quality, environmentally friendly materials. On the other hand, we already had rich experience in making cloth diapers, so we understood what parents need. This foundation helped us respond quickly to their needs and develop a product that truly meets modern families' expectations. Throughout this journey, we were reminded that sustainable innovation is part of our DNA. That’s exactly what we want to keep doing – pushing eco-friendly solutions forward.

Who created the design and illustrations?

Our creative team collaborated with a local agency, B Team, who specialises in brand design and visual identity. They worked to ensure that Bambe’s visual style represents innovation, creativity, and sustainability – not just in the product but in the branding, too. We wanted to create a design that would appeal to both parents and children – something beautiful, practical, and engaging. The idea was to combine aesthetics with functionality and to attract parents who care about both style and practicality.

What are your future plans for Bambe?

We plan to expand Bambe with even more innovative products. One of our main goals is to develop hybrid diapers which combine the benefits of cloth and disposable diapers, potentially reducing waste by up to 40%. At the same time, we’re working on a pilot project to introduce the world’s first fully compostable diaperWe want Bambe to be more than just a disposable diaper brand – we want it to be a symbol of responsible parenting.

With every new step, we aim to bring parents practical, eco-friendly, and sustainable solutions
